There has been quite a bit of hype made about the new Takara Masterpiece Grimlock that's coming out very soon. I was pretty excited myself about the prospect of a new Masterpiece Transformer that wasn't a plane. However Japanese e-retailer e-hobby has posted some images of a fully painted version of the figure, which has been featured on TF Community.
Unfortunately, if these are legitimate photos of the painted prototype, I'm pretty dissappointed. The figure doesn't look a whole lot different than the old Grimlock figure. The Optimus Prime and Megatron Masterpiece figures were so cool because it seemed that they were taken to a whole other level in terms of realism and detailing. These pictures look to "plastic-ky".
