Don't be ashamed. Toys, comics, anime, movies, it's all
good. Just because you reach a
certain age doesn't mean you should grow out of your childhood passions. Though for me,
it only made sense to turn those passions into something more than just curio
filler.
That picture is me, with my wife and better-half of course. Because of her support and understanding, she was enthusiastic about turning one of my passions into a business. Together we created Munster Toys, an online toy store, in 2008. I also created this weblog to cathartically write down all the superfluous toy fodder that's constantly floating around in my head. Hopefully you'll get some entertainment out of it. My intention is to try to distinguish this blog from other toy blogs out there.
So I have some goals for this blog (or rules for myself):
- Not to get drawn into the over-advertising that's
seen on most gaming and toy websites. It's like the content is the size of a
postage stamp relative to all the flashing banner ads.
- Not to be a "Check out this toy coming out! It's
available here! Let me post a hundred pictures!" news blog. Granted I
will talk about upcoming toy lines from time to time (ones I think are
pretty cool) but I'll try to be a little more in depth and reason out why
this should interest you.
- Never take myself too seriously.
If I think of more, I'll just keep adding. If you have any comments, questions, or any topics you want me to write about you can email me at dennis@munstertoys.com. So that's about it... get reading already.
